“This is the best breakfast I’ve ever had anytime, anywhere for any price. Love the music too – old R&B mostly. We ate at a bunch of other places during our stay, but none came close to this one. Perfect eggs and sausage, perfect eggs benedict. Will try it for lunch next time we’re in town.” -Mimi R.

“Mama’s Kitchen is a hole-in-the-wall-type word of mouth cafe, nestled between a quaint little boutique and a run-down bar in Downtown Vancouver. At a glance, you may have reservations about eating there. However, when you enter the restaurant, and the bright smile of the owner greets you…you think again! The menu is great…traditional and some not-so-traditional meals, in large portions, at GREAT prices! If there is anything, however, you must ask for the owner’s specials!!! This man is from the South…N’Orleans…and will surprise with Jumbalaya and traditional Southern home cookin’ treats all of the time! If there’s something you want but don’t see on the menu…these wonderful chefs will go out of their way to please you…special orders and all! Folks, this place is a cozy cafe that hits the spot! I love it!” -Chulina W.
“Super good food and service. Nice thick gravy on my biscuits and hashbrown a we’re just at the right crispy point! Pretty cheap food, I personally think they could up there prices for what you get Family oriented indeed and feels very Mamas Kitchen!” -Kelsee F.
“Awesome food and service. With food allergies they were wiling to make my food special to accommodate them. Not many places will do that. Our family of 4ate for under 40 dollars.” -Maxine D.
“Had the BEST gumbo ever! I’ve never seen a hamburger as huge as the Papa’s Home – 3 patties, 3 slices of cheese, and loaded with toppings. Impossible to eat it all. Definitely going to keep coming back.” -Sophia A.
“One of our favorite places to go for good home cooking. Joseph makes delicious roast pork, meat loaf (both with real mashed potatoes!) and many other down-home dishes. His specialties are from his roots in Louisiana, such as catfish and gumbo. Breakfast is served any time and the owners are happy to accommodate any special requests. If you’re looking for fine dining, this isn’t the place for you….just plain old everyday delicious food with lots of good R&B music in the background. You’ll really feel like you’re in your Mama’s Kitchen!” -Cecilia B.
“Recently ate at Mama’s Kitchen. Fried catfish, jambalaya and coleslaw were all delicious. Don’t sleep on this little quaint spot in Vancouver. Check it out soon and tell a friend. They serve Breakfast, comfort food and some Southern/New Orleans favorites. For those that know “real/authentic” creole/New Orleans style cooking and how it should be prepared and how it should taste…this is the spot hands down!” -Celeste P.
